Caliburn GPP Alpha Cartridges: the new generation takes over
With the GPP Alpha cartridges, Uwell evolves its Caliburn platform without turning everything upside down. They replace the older GPP cartridges used on the G3 and G4 series, while remaining compatible with Caliburn G3, G4 and G5 pods.
The biggest change is inside, with AlphaCore technology designed to keep flavours more consistent and significantly extend the lifespan of the built-in coil. Uwell claims up to 17 refills and more than 50 mL of e-liquid per cartridge.
You still get a 3 mL tank, side filling, U² anti-leak technology and several resistance options for switching from MTL to RDL. A welcome little bonus: the new Soft-Touch TPU mouthpiece feels softer and more comfortable in the mouth.

GPP Alpha: the new Caliburn cartridges take over
The GPP Alpha cartridges replace the previous generation of GPP cartridges used notably on the Caliburn G3 and G4. The good news is that Uwell keeps the same platform, so you do not need to change your pod to use them.
The new cartridges remain compatible with devices from the Caliburn G3, G4 and G5 series. They also retain what made the previous GPP cartridges successful: built-in coils, easy filling and a wide choice of resistance values.
The main difference lies in lifespan and flavour consistency, with a new Alpha design clearly intended to reduce how often cartridges need replacing.
AlphaCore: longer lifespan, more consistent flavour
Uwell introduces its AlphaCore technology with this generation, developed to maintain more consistent flavour delivery over successive refills.
According to the manufacturer’s tests, a 3 mL GPP Alpha cartridge can reach 17 refills or more, representing over 50 mL of e-liquid vaporised before replacement.
Of course, actual lifespan will always depend on your e-liquid, power setting and vaping frequency. A very sweet recipe, for example, will still be more demanding on the coil. But on paper, the Alpha cartridges are clearly designed to go further than the older GPP G3/G4 versions.
U² and PRO-FOCS: Uwell classics are still on board
The GPP Alpha cartridges continue to benefit from U² technology, which combines ultrasonic welding with a U-shaped airflow channel to help reduce the risk of leaks.
The Caliburn platform also retains Uwell’s PRO-FOCS know-how, designed to preserve precise and consistent flavour delivery from puff to puff.
In other words, AlphaCore mainly adds another layer to an already well-established foundation.
A softer Soft-Touch mouthpiece
Another small upgrade you notice fairly quickly: the GPP Alpha cartridges feature an ergonomic mouthpiece covered in Soft-Touch TPU.
The contact feels softer and less rigid than with a standard plastic mouthpiece, which is a genuinely nice touch when the pod stays with you all day.
It may not be the technology that makes the front page of Vaping Post, but it is exactly the kind of detail you appreciate after a few hundred puffs.
Compatible with Caliburn G3, G4 and G5
The GPP Alpha cartridges are part of Uwell’s G Pod Platform. They can therefore be used with devices from the following series*:
- Caliburn G3
- Caliburn G4
- Caliburn G5
They are therefore the natural replacement for the older GPP G3/G4 cartridges, with the advantage of remaining useful if you later move to a G5-generation device.

Three resistance options from MTL to RDL on your Caliburn
Each GPP Alpha cartridge features a built-in Mesh coil. Three resistance values are available to easily adapt the draw, power and type of e-liquid used.
- GPP Alpha 0.4 ohm: very open RDL vape - up to 35W - recommended PG/VG ratios from 40/60 to 30/70 - recommended nicotine strengths up to 6 mg/mL
- GPP Alpha 0.6 ohm: RDL vape - up to 25W - recommended PG/VG ratios from 50/50 to 40/60 - recommended nicotine strengths up to 12 mg/mL
- GPP Alpha 0.9 ohm: MTL vape - up to 15W - recommended PG/VG ratios from 60/40 to 50/50 - recommended nicotine strengths up to 20 mg/mL
3 mL and side filling without removing the cartridge
The GPP Alpha cartridges feature a 3 mL tank and retain a particularly practical side-filling system for everyday use.
There is no need to remove the cartridge from the pod: simply open the silicone tab on the side, fill the tank and close it carefully.

- Important: with a new cartridge, wait around 10 minutes before vaping to allow the cotton to become properly saturated
When should you replace your GPP Alpha cartridge?
Because the coil is built directly into the cartridge, it cannot be replaced separately. Once it reaches the end of its lifespan, the entire cartridge needs to be replaced.
A few signs usually indicate that it is time to open a new cartridge:
- flavours become less precise
- vapour production decreases
- an unwanted taste starts to appear
- a burnt taste becomes noticeable
